Pooches and their people show up for San Diego Humane Society at Walk for Animals

Pooches got in on the fun too at the San Diego Humane Society s Walk for Animals at Liberty Station Photo courtesy of SDHS Thousands took a stroll at Saturday s Walk for Animals in Point Loma raising over for the San Diego Humane Society an official reported More than people countless with their dogs turned out for the st annual event held at Liberty Station Spokeswoman Nina Thompson noted the day had such a fun mix of attendees and the money that was raised will help the organization care for animals in the coming year She also noted that two dogs up for adoption Carson and Nala had the best time meeting people and other dogs during the benefit Walk for Animals is considered one of the Humane Society s largest events with a targeted goal of raising this year This is the kickoff really to the busiest time of the year declared Gary Weitzman president and CEO All of our animals feel like they come in in the summer We are packed to the gills We really want to let the world know where here to celebrate this relationship we have with these incredible creatures But we also want people to come in and adopt and foster volunteer just be part of the society that s taking care of these incredible animals with us Along with a two-mile and half-mile walk Saturday s event featured dog programs and a spa live music and vendor booths
